solid wood desk. very easy Assembly. We went along without any tools like the dealer has tighten screws. is the wood? Yes. However, it is still not super-cheap. think the look like the same wood you get with real office desks. If you can live with that, you'll be fine with that. one of the corners of the desk came with a slight defect due to shipping, I can live with. overall, very happy with this desk.
